Friday Good Vibes - Week 8 T2 2017

School wide each teacher gives out a Friday Good Vibes postcard to a student who has had an awesome week. These postcards are taken home and shared with parents and whānau.

Well done to Tanzi and Zek who received our Friday Good Vibes postcards this week.

Tanzi (from our Teacher Aide Liz) - For helping and encouraging students who were struggling to operate the machinery in Hard Materials.

Zek - For working really hard on improving his reading and english language.

Roving Reporters 2017

Check out the school newsletter for this week. Every class gets a go at writing articles for the newsletter and this week it was our turn. We had 12 students involved in writing articles from a different variety of things happening at Casebrook.

Student Blogs are now LIVE

Today we posted our first post on our student learning blogs. Each student posted their procedural writing assessment along with the 'how to' video that they made in groups. Along with this students completed a self reflection and in peers they commented on each others post with feedback and feedforward on their partners writing.

Dance Party 2017

Last night was the Casebrook Dance Party. It was a great night and was nice to see all the students having a good time.

Procedural Writing T2 2017

As part of our procedural writing assessment we used our piece of writing to create 'how to' videos. This was a great authentic learning experience. Check out the videos below, you may learn something new.

Living with Low Vision

This week we had Ollie and Summa alongside their Resource Teacher from BLENNZ Denise talk to the class about what it is like living with low vision and how we can all help them.

They talked about how they deal with different situations and we were able to experience what it is like having low vision by wearing low vision goggles. We were able to see what it is like to be in everyday situations with low vision through role play. Sam also talked to us about how he as Ollie's good friend supports and helps him.

Thank you Ollie, Summa, Sam this was a very insightful experience for everyone. Big thanks to Denise for being a great support person for Ollie and Summa.

Group Points - Week 5 T2 2017

Well done to Team Wildfire who took out the group points for this week. This week our REP of the week is Alyssa.

This week we spent sometime in the Digi Room with Mrs Kelleher setting up our student blogs. On these blogs we will post samples of learning we do in class and also will sometimes have blogging activities posted as part of our Reading rotation.
