Tim Tam Slam

For writing, we have started to look at procedural writing. We have been focussing on writing instructions that are clear and sequenced in chronological order.

We used the Tim Tam Slam as an igniter to engage us in our procedural writing. Once we had completed our writing we followed our instructions and completed the Tim Tam Slam.

This proved to be a very engaging, yummy and messy activity.

Daily Writing Challenge - Tricky Tuesday

Today for our Daily Writing Challenge we had to come up with a sentence with exactly 17 words following the prompt we were given.

One sentence sounds easy - but 17 words and trying to make it descriptive is a challenge!

Agatha, a child monster, an annoying little brat, a very weird girl and also very very talkative.
- Written By Boraq.

What Agatha saw, was a majestical quite big and chunky animal, by the name of the Turtle.
- Written by Dan.

Agatha saw something with short brown hair, something with big scary horns, something ten times her size.
- Written by Liam.

Agatha just spotted a colourful, fluffy looking flying monkey, it wooshed past her like a speeding car.
- Written by Olie.

Agatha was searching for the biggest and scariest creature alive and it was a big slimy snail.
- Written by Phoenix.

Agatha used her big black binoculars and spotted some small colourful birds high in the blue sky.
- Written by Sophia.

Agatha looked through the binoculars, to see a humongous monster, as her heartbeats loudly like a drum.
- Written by Wiparata.

Moment in Time Writing T3 2019

This week we watched a Nike football commercial to prompt us for our Moment in Time writing. Once we watched the video we then had to write about the 'moment the winning goal was scored' or the 'moment the winning goal was missed'.

We focussed on describing all the elements in that moment of time and using the five senses to build an image in the mind of the reader.
